The FYREBX Skidgen transforms a proven forestry skidder platform into a high-capacity water delivery system capable of carrying between 1,000 and 2,000 gallons of water. Designed for rugged terrain where conventional water tenders may face limitations, the FYREBX Skidgen combines substantial water capacity with the off-road capability skidders are known for. This unit is engineered with a high-pressure, low-volume pump to conserve water and offers easy access to controls and valves for fast operation. Skidgens are hybrid heavy-duty vehicles equipped with a pump and control panel, ready to deploy water and foam for effective fire suppression. The chassis is built on heavy-duty tracked or large-tired platforms, ensuring strength and flexibility to reach remote firelines and protect vegetation and property.
Operators can transport water deep into challenging environments while retaining the ability to navigate rough ground, move through dense vegetation, and assist with clearing obstacles encountered during operations. Firefighters rely on Skidgens in both initial attacks and mop-up operations. The machine can push through an active fire line, drop lines, spray water, and cool hot spots while trailing crews work behind it to secure the area, using rear-mounted equipment and booster hose to maximize effectiveness.
